The Power of ONE

What if God used YOU this weekend?

Dear Lakeshore Church Family-

As Good Friday and Easter approach, we celebrate the holy high-point of
our Christian faith. The day our sins were paid for and forgiven, and
the day that undeniably proves that every thing Jesus said, did and
claimed to be are true. He is Lord! As this weekend quickly
approaches, we have a tremendous opportunity to both draw close to
Christ and be used by Him to impact others for eternity. Let me throw
out a few ways:

1) Spend some time in the Bible these next few days. A few suggestions
that relate to the holidays consider Matthew 26-28, Mark 14-16, Luke
22-24, John 18-21. To get close to God, you have to engage the
scriptures on this incredible period in Christ's life, covering his Last
Supper on Thursday evening all the way through to His resurrection on
Easter Sunday morning.

2) Pray for both your "Power of ONE" people and for the Good Friday
(7pm) and Easter services (9am & 11am). Ask God to do something
incredible, especially that He would lead tens of people to a first-time
faith in Christ!

3) Invite people and take a few relational risks. I invited someone in
the hot tub at the YMCA this morning (risky, I know). If they live in
Greece, Hilton, Brockport or Spencerport they received the mailer so
leverage that. Ask God to send at least one person you invite to our
Easter services. This is the time of year they're most likely to accept
your invitation.

4) Be sure to greet guests with a big smile and a little conversation.
Let's all do our part to welcome people with the love of Christ.

5) Come early. Not only 15 minutes before services begin, but also
consider attending the early 9am service if you can (the 11am service
will be more full).

6) Finally, come spiritually hungry! These services will help you get
as close to God as you let them. So come with a hunger and anticipation
that God will meet you where you are and bring you to a new place in
your walk with Him.

I'm trusting God to do something incredible in our community as people
struggle with all the uncertainty around them these days. And I'm
trusting that he'll use you and I (along with the services) to do so
because I believe in the power of Christ.

Warmly-

Vince
