Lakeshore Family-
While we're living the way we are as a world down here, what do you
think Jesus is thinking about it all up there?
I'm sure you all have a pretty good idea about how saddened he is by
what he sees and hears. In light of this, what would he say to us about
how we're living today? We're going to look at some important things he
would say to us this Sunday as we wrap up our series, "What Jesus Would
Say To Us About..." Expect to be stretched and even challenged by what
Jesus says.
As we enter December there are many events and gatherings planned here
at Lakeshore (women, men, young adults, families, singles, etc.) for
spending time with others and I hope you'll engage them as your schedule
allows. But I hope you'll make time for one that may be more important
than any other: Synergy Prayer Event which will be held on Saturday,
December 12 (the second Saturday of each month) from 9:00-10:30am.
We'll focus on the beauty and wonder of Christmas as we read scripture
on the birth of Jesus Christ, reflect and pray individually and in
groups for whatever it is that comes to our hearts. I believe that
amidst the "busyness", we sometimes neglect the "business" of spending
quiet time with God. This may be THE venue you need this Christmas
season.
Why not write down the date right now and plan to attend? Child care is
provided.
I hope to see you tonight at Common Ground for "The Meaning Of
Christmas: Embraced By The Light?" We'll look at the birth of Jesus in
light of our cultural celebrations and answer the question of when Jesus
was born and what it means today. Think it was December 25? You may be
surprised by the answer! We'll begin at 7pm with worship in music and
we'll take Communion before the message. We'll also provide bookmarks
with the topics for the first half of the 2010 Common Ground schedule.
We have some cool series planned for you.
Warmly-
Vince
PS-Keep praying for the LC2 construction effort. We have important
things happening in the next couple weeks. We'll have a full update at
the December 13 service.
