[LCC Announce] Things are getting "hot" at Lakeshore this week

Dear Lakeshore Family-

 

We've had eleven straight days of below average temperatures here in
Rochester.  Here it is June 10 and I haven't even been in our pool yet.
Let's hope things start to heat up soon.  At Lakeshore things will be
heating up in many ways in the coming days.

 

First, we will be offering a free showing of the movie "Fireproof" on
Friday, June 12 at 7:30pm (Fire... heating up... hehe?!... come on, give
me a break, it's not Sunday).  Nearly 400 people are registered and we
still have more room.  To RSVP yourself (or your friends) please call
the church office ASAP (392-LAKE).  Remember that if at all possible,
couples should make a romantic evening out of it- get a babysitter, go
out to dinner beforehand and enjoy the movie afterward.  Want dinner
discussion questions?  How about the ones I assigned for homework a
couple weeks ago: Take turns sharing five things you really love about
your spouse, and three things you think you do that drives your spouse
nutty.  A final reminder: this movie is open to everyone regardless if
they are married or single.

 

This Saturday, June 13 we're holding our next Synergy Prayer event.  We
will have two opportunities: 9:00-10:30am (no childcare) AND 3:00-4:30pm
(childcare provided).  Take the time to pray and "heat up" your
relationship with the Lord.  OK, there is a verse for that in the Bible
(see Revelation 3:15).  BTW, starting next month (July), we will hold
Synergy Prayer events more often (on the second Saturday of every
month).  We'll be calling it "Second Saturday Synergy".  There is a
growing sense in many of us that we need to pray more and this will help
that happen.  Details forthcoming.  I hope you will make the time to
pray with others THIS Saturday.

 

Finally, at services this Sunday we'll look at "What Women Wish Men
Knew".  If only guys could tap into the inner needs of ladies then
marriage relationships could go deeper (the same holds true for ladies
toward men so we'll cover "What Men Wish Women Knew" the following week
on Father's Day).  We'll also be sharing why June 28 could be a great
day in your marriage, why we're asking everyone to dress up (at
Lakeshore? Yep!), and why you should be there.
