[LCC Announce] Mother's Day And The LC2

Dear Lakeshore Family-

 

This Sunday we celebrate Mother's Day at Lakeshore.  Whenever I think of
Mother's Day, I always remember the first time we celebrated it at
Lakeshore on May 14, 1995.  Already in shock from a year of living in
the cold of Rochester (after nearly 9 years in warm Florida and Texas),
I woke up that morning to... two inches of snow... in mid-May?!  I was
crying "Mommy" that Mother's Day.  

 

This year, we plan another "warm" service designed to celebrate Mother's
that I'm calling "Mothers Are Marvelous".  We plan to honor all women in
our church (married or single) and we have a really great gift for each
of them.  I hope this is a service that not only encourages you but also
helps to point the direction for Mothers to follow in our confusing and
uncertain world.

 

On another positive note, the construction of the LC2 has begun and due
to the good weather, they have made great progress:

*Cleared the site area.

*Put in the fire hydrant water line (by the back parking lot).

*Prepared the road around the building, along with the culvert under it
to drain water.

*Started preparing the site area for the future stones and other work.

<http://www.lakeshorechurch.org/> ) for updates.  In the weeks ahead we
will need some volunteers to help with the pre-concrete foundation
preparation work.  We'll have more specific information soon.

 

Finally, starting on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend (May 24), we're
beginning a new series, "I Think I Married The Wrong Person".  I'm
convinced that this series on marriage and singleness will "scratch"
everyone right where they "itch".  We're planning some great events
like:

*Showing the movie, "Fireproof" on Friday, June 12 at 7:30pm at
Lakeshore.

*Possibly a wedding vow renewal service for all married couples during
church! 

 

We'll be sending out mailers to every home in Greece, Hilton,
Spencerport, and Brockport on Monday and you'll be getting some mailers
at church Sunday to hand out to friends.  This series should be an easy
sell to people you know because we all want better marriages.  So why
not start inviting them now?

 

These are exciting times at Lakeshore.  Thanks for being a part of the
