[LCC Announce] Hearing Jesus' Words On A Tender Subject

Dear Lakeshore Family-

 

This Sunday at church we will look at the HIV/AIDS crisis and see what
Jesus would say to us all about that.  This is a subject that evokes
much emotion as well as a certain amount of confusion.  We'll help you
navigate both with wisdom from Jesus' words in the NT (along with other
key scripture) and data on the crisis.  I think you'll be surprised by
some of it.  We'll begin with a simple True-False quiz to test your
knowledge.  

 

Hope to see you and your friends and family here.  Your response to the
services and series so far has been really favorable.  I have been
encouraged greatly by your specific comments.  Be assured that as we
wrestle with these issue, we will continue to strive for a "grace and
truth" balance in all we say.

 

On Sunday, we collected our Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes to the
tune of 249 boxes!  I know that others came in after Sunday and were
dropped off to the collection site beyond this number.  Thanks for your
incredible generosity to help people who will never, ever be able to pay
you back.  Generosity can't get much purer than this.  Let's pray that
God uses these gifts to touch children and families around the world
with the love of Jesus Christ.

 

We're pressing ahead with the LC2 volunteer effort.  We have a
tentative, but more firm, date that we're targeting for the LC2 Grand
Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony and reception.  A major factor is
the volunteer effort staying as strong as it has been these past few
weeks.  So thanks in advance for helping with painting, ceiling, wiring,
tiling, siding and everything else that's been done.  Wood work (both
rough and trim) will begin soon and we will begin building the storage
building behind the Multipurpose Room in the weeks ahead.

PS- Oh, regarding the date that we have tentatively set for the LC2
Grand Opening?  We'll let you know at the December 13 service when we
provide a formal update on the LC2 and the "Finishing The Work" campaign
:-). 

 

PSS- How 'bout those Bills?  Maybe they'll play the Saints in the Super
