[LCC Announce] As the series ends, the fun begins

Dear LCC Family-

 

This Sunday, we will be wrapping up our series, "Just Walk Across The Room"
with some final perspective on "the walk".  I hope you'll be there as we
plan a simple but hopefully meaningful interactive event at the end of the
service.  

 

IT'S NOT THE END, BUT THE BEGINNING

While the series ends on Sunday, the fun will just begin.  We'll be asking
everyone at Lakeshore to develop a list of people they want to see become
followers of Christ and give them brochures to mail out to that very same
list of people.  Community Groups will meet next week and then again for an
extra week (week 5) the following week to celebrate, share and consider
continuing the group in January.  We'll also be asking Community Groups to
help with a church-wide brochure drop-off of about 18,000 pieces to homes
all around Lakeshore.

 

This brochure was designed by our advertising consultant working closely
with me and others.  It reflects all that we are doing more and more of with
each passing year at Lakeshore. namely, reaching out to people with
compassion.  I think in the next couple of years the scope of our outreach
will continue to grow along these lines.  I have attached a "pdf" of the
brochure (note that the file is broken up into the outside and inside cover
pages and the internal pages.  The page numbers will help you get the order
straight).

 

I hope you'll be one of the people to deliver them to our neighbors.

 

LC2 VOLUNTEER UPDATE

I'm excited about the plan we've developed to reach out to people as we get
ready to open up the LC2 in the weeks ahead.   And speaking of the LC2, here
is our volunteer need for Saturday, October 10:

 

1)     We need painters for 9am (remember that we have Second Saturday
Synergy prayer from 9-10:30am) or 10:30am.  Please contact Tom Johnson at
330-9837 if you plan to show up and help.  We'll be painting the back
education, restroom area and courtyard hallways and perhaps finishing the
Student Rooms. 

2)     Other stuff like clean up maybe needed as well.

 

Starting sometime next week, we'll continue painting the atrium area and the
rest of the LC2, setting tile in the bathrooms and starting the ceiling tile
grid work, hanging doors and wiring for data.  So stay tuned because soon
we'll need even more people very soon.

 

Thanks for your part.  I hope you've made a few walks this week with people
God is bringing your way.
