Dear Lakeshore Family-

 

I hope you all had a great and relaxing Labor Day weekend.  Sue and I
spent a week in New Orleans and weren't chased away by a hurricane this
time.  We enjoyed so much good food that I gained 5 pounds.  Exercise
here I come!

 

Now that the "Leadership Matters" series in Nehemiah is complete, my
desire is that it helped you and that you're inspired to embrace the
leadership principles that Nehemiah so masterfully applied to the
building up of the wall around Jerusalem, and the people WITHIN
Jerusalem.  One of the principles we saw again and again was his
constant attitude of prayer.  This Saturday from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. we
are holding our monthly "Second Saturday of the Month Synergy".  Child
care is provided so I hope you'll be there praying your Nehemiah-like
prayers.

 

As we begin a new series Sunday, I will put forth my answer to almost
every question people ask in life.  What is it?  Here's a hint: it's
just four words in length and each word is power-packed.  Get the answer
this Sunday.  We've planned an engaging service and a creative stage set
for you as we officially begin a new ministry year.

 

While you're at church, be sure to sign up for a Community Group AND
purchase a "Just Walk Across The Room" Study Guide.  Remember that every
group participant will need their own (sharing won't work).  Over 30
groups will host an estimated 300-400 people and some groups still have
room for more.  We'll meet for just 4 consecutive weeks, a perfect
amount of time to get to know others while not being so long that you
feel "stuck"... but we know that won't happen, right? :-).

 

How about the LC2 building progress?  If you haven't seen it in a week
or two, you'll be in for a nice surprise.  The volunteer effort has
begun in earnest so if you can help, please sign up at the Info Center
and we'll contact you.  We'll have more information on the progress at
Vision Night (next Thursday, September 17 at 7pm).

 

I look forward to answering a big question with you this Sunday.  It
will be a great day to invite friends.
