Dear Lakeshore Family-
When we developed the plans for our initial building in 2002, we included a generic "box" footprint on the campus aerial view plans called the Multipurpose Building. With all of our energies poured into the design details of this first building, we found just enough vision to say that this is where our completion to the Phase One vision would go in the future... one day in the future.
What would it look like? All we knew back then was that it would have a big... well... Multipurpose Room and potentially some classrooms. Over the next few years, especially after we moved and settled into the first building in 2004, the specific needs for this Multipurpose Building became clearer and clearer. Classrooms for Children and Youth were needed. A full-size kitchen was a must. A café sounded great. And the final and most bold step of faith in the design, the Atrium expansion to triple its size, was added as to the design (and a beautiful center courtyard was an added bonus). In the process, it became The Lakeshore Community Center or the LC2.
This Sunday we will celebrate the Grand Opening of the LC2 at 12:45pm after the second service with a ceremony in the auditorium with overflow in the Atrium. After the LC2 will be open for viewing and we will have a hors devours reception with food afterward. Many dignitaries will join us. We'll dedicate this place to God. We will party hearty! Your hearts will be filled up with joy when you let it all sink in!
I hope you will be there. My message during both services will be entitled, "Cheering On The Church" and we will indeed cheer on the church that Jesus Christ loves and died for.
Come with friends and family. If you want the best seats, I suggest you come to the 9 am service. If you come to the 11am service, be sure to arrive extra early and get a seat well before the service begins. While I don't know for sure, I suspect the second service will be full.
And be sure to forward that email blast we sent out to you all last week to friends using the "Forward To A Friend" button. I think they will catch the excitement.
Remember our weather guidelines at Lakeshore: We do not cancel services unless the roads are closed by New York State. Let's pray that the weather is not an issue for Sunday.
I hope to see you all for this historic day at Lakeshore!
Warmly (only because my office thermostat is set pretty high :-))-
Pastor Vince
PS- I hope you will be at Common Ground Midweek service tonight at 7:00pm as we begin a new series from 2 Thessalonians, "Strength For Stressful Times".
