Dear Lakeshore Church Family-

After 4.5 years of planning, 2 capital campaigns, lots of prayer and
planning and working, we celebrate the Grand Opening of the LC2! Last
Sunday was a great day for those of us who love this church. We had
nearly 900 people for both services, and about 500 stayed for the Grand
Opening event afterward with many dignitaries present. I hope the day
was as encouraging to you as it was for our leadership. All of our
prayers and sacrifices are now being rewarded. You can see some of the
stories done on LCC in the links at the very end of this email.

On Sunday, I was struck by the energy in this place... particularly the
children and youth. I believe the LC2 is the most visionary thing we
have done yet because it will help us attract kids who need the Lord
(and are most open to Him). By the time people reach the age of 21,
their spiritual commitments have pretty much been made. While we see it
at Lakeshore, people after age 21 do not come to Christ in droves, they
come to faith "onesy, twosey", here and there. By building the LC2, we
are better positioned to reach more kids than ever. Just watch.

Of course, this place will help us with all we do for adults as well.

Other items of interest:

1) Haiti: The earthquake there was the strongest since 1770! We will
be taking a special offering for the relief of the people of Haiti and
send it to Converge Worldwide at NEXT SUNDAY'S service (January 24).
We'll have more details at THIS Sunday's service in preparation.

2) Common Ground new format: Last Thursday, we held our first new
format Common Ground with a 10-minute Q&A time after the message
(8:20-8:30pm). I was really surprised at how well this went over and
how many people went out of their way to tell me so! Hope to see you
next Thursday, January 21 at 7pm here at Common Ground as we continue in
2 Thessalonians with, "Relax, God Always Gets The Last Word" (2 Thes.
1:5-12)

3) NH220 How To Study and Enjoy The Bible will be taught this Saturday
to 40 people for the first time. We will be recording the seminar and
offering it again throughout the year. I believe it will help us all
grow in our ability to study the Bible. If you signed up see you there.
If not, hope you'll take it next time it is offered.

4) This Sunday, we will wrap up our series on the church by unveiling
our 2010-2011 Strategic Plan. I hope you'll be here to hear this
important message.

Thanks for all your love. Sue and I realized again on Sunday that we
have some of the greatest people in Rochester here at Lakeshore. Let's
all do our part to help more people find a loving relationship with
Christ this year.

Warmly-

Vince
