[LCC Announce] Pray continually!

LCC Family-

 

How is your "Pray continually" week going?  Have you asked two people
each day how you could pray for them?  Were you able to pray with them
on the spot?  Did God do anything interesting in you yet?

 

This week, I ran into someone who has been in the news a lot lately; I
won't identify him because that isn't appropriate.  But what was
interesting is the fact that as we talked and I asked what I could pray
for (which was obvious knowing his situation), he easily volunteered it.
That wasn't too surprising.  But when I asked if I could pray for him on
the spot in the parking lot where we talked, he said, "Absolutely!"  I
prayed and promised to pray for his situation in the days ahead.  I even
plan to send him a CD of last Sunday's message to help him on his
spiritual journey, because I think he has a ways to go there.

 

Our goal in this exercise is simple: for all of us to pray more and to
do so with more biblical clarity than ever.  So I hope to hear your
stories too in the days ahead.  Feel free to email them to my
Administrative Assistant Kathy at kashepanski at lakeshorechurch.org .  I
can't wait to read them.

 

A few other items of interest:

 

1) This Saturday is our Second Saturday Synergy event at the special
time of 1:00 - 2:30 pm.  The special time is to accommodate the Megan's
Run race being hosted here at Lakeshore earlier on Saturday.   Remember
the text data results from the service?  70% said that they do believe
in the miracle power of prayer.  So let's pray together for miracles.
Child care will be provided.

 

2) We want to send kids to Camp Burton, our district camp, this Summer.
And to help, we are offering $50 scholarships to a select number of kids
on a first come, first served basis.  But time is ticking for the early
July dates.  To find out more about sending your kids with others from
Lakeshore, talk with Pastor Cory Hunneyman or Jill Freese THIS Sunday.
Brochures are also available on the Info Center rack (the far left
rack).

 

3) How about Summer Camp for adults?  We have it for you in the form of
the 2010 Global Leadership Summit Thursday-Friday, August 5-6.  The
early bird rate of $75 (for LCC attendees only please) is less than 3
weeks away.  We also need more volunteers for this incredible leadership
event featuring Bill Hybels, Andy Stanley, T.D. Jakes, Jim Collins, and
Coach Tony Dungy to name a few.

 

This Sunday, we'll look at another important text God would send us.
Come prepared.
