Dear LCCers-
This Sunday we will be wrapping up our "What Color Is Your Paint?"
series with a topic that is near and dear to me: how God views every
Christian as a "work of art". While to this point the series has
challenged us to get involved in the church, this closing message will
bring that needed encouragement as we reflect on the journey God takes
us on to become His one and only treasured artwork. Hope to see you on
Sunday. Be encouraged!
This week, people in Greece, Spencerport and Hilton are receiving our
latest direct mail piece which touts our LC2 Grand Opening. I realize
we had the ribbon cutting on January 10, but this will be our
"community" version of the Grand Opening. Regardless of what we're
calling it, we'll begin a new series on personal identity theft. I
think it will be an important one for everyone. Why? Look at all the
insecure, angry, struggling, hurting and ungrounded people around you
these days... and that's true in the Christian community! So few people
realize who they really are in Christ, and even fewer know how to
appropriate it in their lives. We'll learn how this Spring.
It starts on Good Friday at both the 5pm and 7pm services as we look at
how Jesus took our place. This will be a reflective and interactive
service.
On Easter, we've planned the most creative service in our history: it's
kind of a musical, kind of a drama, and kind of different. It's all
centered around the life of Jesus and how he ended a sad life well (and
we can too). It will parallel our own lives in interesting ways.
Why not invite friends to these services- especially Easter? This is
the one time of year people will more likely say yes than any other
time! So pray, hand out the mailer (they may have already received it),
or the invite cards. But take a risk and invite some people. I think
God may surprise you.
Warmly-
Vince
