[LCC Announce] Meet a couple of my friends!

Dear LCCers-

 

Tonight I will have the pleasure of seeing someone I truly love and
appreciate.  You may have heard of him- he's about 6 feet tall, has
brown hair and a funny little birth mark on his right cheek.  He made
news back in February for his incredible performance and was given an
award for it.  He sports a number nine jersey and plays QB for the New
Orleans Saints.  Yep, Drew Brees is in town tonight for the Rochester
Press Radio Club event and Sue and I will be there screaming "who dat!"
until I'm carried away by security (actually, only I will be).  And
thanks to the help of an LCC attender, I'll be at the VIP event
beforehand to meet Drew personally.  I wonder what the other people at
the VIP event will do :-).

 

OK, enough personal vanity.

 

This Sunday, we'll have another personal friend (but someone I actually
know pretty well) speaking at Lakeshore.  Bill Hybels, the Sr. Pastor of
Willow Creek Community Church, will be speaking via DVD on the subject,
"Holy Discontent".  He'll tackle some of the neat things God longs to do
in us once we realize our unique "discontent" and how we channel it for
a life of meaning and impact.  This is a great week to invite someone to
church as we celebrate "Global Leadership Summit Sunday".  Why not
invite someone to meet you here?  We'll also have news on how you can
attend the Leadership Summit at Lakeshore for a real deal!

 

A couple of other items:

 

1)     The Member Mini-Meetings for official members will take place
immediately after both services.  Please stay after the service of your
choice.  This is a vital 20 minute meeting for members who care about
our church.  I trust that is all of you.

 

2)     There are still some tickets left, but this Sunday is the last
day to buy tickets for the LCC 15th anniversary banquet on May 23 at
4pm.  You can come by the office during the week or buy them on Sunday.
The team CANNOT accept orders after this Sunday as they need to order
food and the like.  So if you plan to attend, buy your very affordable
tickets this Sunday.
